West Liberty Food's grab-and-go sandwich facility and accompanying cold storage facility, developed by Vertical Cold Storage, garnered media attention for KC's fast-growing food and beverage industry.

Kansas City region has emerged as one of the nation’s largest, fastest-growing food and beverage logistics hubs, announced KC SmartPort.

The Heartland Cold Storage Logistics Center broke ground in July. The first cold storage industrial speculative building in the Kansas City market is expected to be completed in Q1 2022.

Elli Bowen, vice president of KC SmartPort, an affiliate of KCADC, was featured in the latest issue of Freight Business Journal North America, in which she gave her insight into the rapid growth of “reefer” (refrigerated) containers and the increasing need for cold storage facilities.
