No. 2 Best City for Women in Tech
A ranking by SmartAsset.com recently placed Kansas City as the No. 2 best city in America for women in technology. Cities were evaluated based on percentage of women in the tech workforce, gender pay gap, income and three year employment growth. SmartAsset.com, September 2015

A study by Livibility.com named Overland Park, Kansas as No. 14 on its list of “Top 100 Best Places to Live.” Cities were evaluated based on more than 40 different data points in the categories of economics, housing, amenities, infrastructure, demographics, social and civic capital, education and health care. Kansas City-local One More Cup’s Curious George drink is rated one of the 10 Best Ice Coffee Drinks for an Afternoon Pick-Me-Up by USA Today. The key ingredient, banana milk gives the drink its unique mouth feel, without overly sweetening things. USA Today, July 2015

According to Sports TV Ratings’ review of FOX’s broadcast of the 2015 Women’s World Cup, the Kansas City region topped the local market in viewers. World-famous fall-off-the-bone ribs earn Joe’s Kansas City Bar-B-Que the No. 2 spot on TripAdvisor’s list of America’s Best BBQ. Restaurants were put in the ranking based on a minimum of 100 written reviews on TripAdvisor, and selected based on volume and quality of reviews. CNN, May 2015

KC easily made its way to No. 4 on Travel + Leisure’s list of the Friendliest Cities in America due to affordability, good drivers, barbecue and other delicious dining establishments. KCADC Leadership Top Economic Developers
Bob Marcusse, president and CEO, and Tim Cowden, Senior VP of business development, were named as two of North America’s Top 50 Economic Developers by Consultant Connect. Honorees on this list were nominated by fellow economic developers based on practices and innovation used to build their communities. Consultant Connect, March 2015

No. 3 in Accounting Degree Affordability
A regional Kansas City university, the University of Central Missouri, was named the No. 3 Most Affordable Bachelors in Accounting by Accounting Degree Review. The ranking was based on education costs of U.S. schools accredited by the AACSB in accounting, as well as annual tuition and fees for out-of-state incoming freshmen. KC a Top Quirky City in America
Kansas City named No. 8 on Travel + Leisure’s list of the 20 Quirkiest Cities in America. This list is based off of the “America’s Favorite Cities” survey, where KC ranked No. 3 all around. O’Malley’s, an underground Irish Pub and music venue, is one of Thrillist’s 21 Best Irish Pubs in the Nation. Thirteen of the 19 state universities in Kansas and Missouri rank among the top 250 public colleges in America, including Truman State University (No. 40), The University of Missouri (No. 45) and The University of Kansas (No. 74).
