- Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts
The brand new $326 million Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts will bring a 1,600-seat ballet and opera house, as well as a 1,600-seat concert hall and 250-seat "Celebration Hall" when it opens in 2010. Perched on a hilltop at the south end of downtown Kansas City, Missouri, the Kauffman Center has been designed by world-renowned Moshe Safdie and a team of international experts in performing arts venues.

- Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater
Kansas City is one of the summer homes to the world famous Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, which offers performances one week each year.
- American Heartland Theatre
Located in Hallmark's Crown Center, the Heartland Theatre provides year-round professional theatre. Live, Broadway-style productions ranging from family comedies, musicals, dramas and mystery.
- Carlsen Center Series
Located at Johnson County Community College in Overland Park, Kansas, offers a distinguished concert series throughout the year.
- Coterie Children's Theatre
Named by Time magazine “One of the five best theaters for young audiences in the US.” Located in Crown Center in downtown Kansas City, Mo.
- Folly Jazz Series
Named for the Folly Theatre in which they are presented, the Folly Jazz Series is eagerly anticipated and usually sold out.
- The Grand Emporium
Features both national and regional blues, reggae, rock, zydeco, jazz and swing seven nights a week. It has twice been honored as "Best Blues Club in America" by the Blues Foundation. The Harriman-Jewell Series at William Jewell College
Nationally recognized arts program and Education Series in Liberty, Missouri. Has featured Luciano Pavarotti, Itzhak Perlman, Yo-Yo Ma, American Ballet Theatre and Broadway production of STOMP.

Offers an eclectic repertory from the traditional classics to contemporary ballets, including an annual performance of The Nutcracker.
- Kansas City Repertory Theatre
